Customer Spotlight: Peter Morton, Private Pilot; Isle of Wight

November 16, 2018

Spidertracks delivers huge value for aviation operators with multiple aircraft to manage, but we also love keeping individual pilots safe. In this quick spotlight, UK-based private pilot Peter Morton discusses the value of our real-time tracking service for individual pilots with just one aircraft. Read on to learn what Peter has to say about Spidertracks.

Tell us a bit about your organisation. What do you do? How long have you been in operation? What’s your particular role within the organisation?

I’m a private flyer in the United Kingdom based on the Isle of Wight. I sometimes use the plane to travel to business meetings (weather-dependent), but mostly I travel around the south of the UK, Europe, and the Channel Islands.

How did you become aware of Spidertracks, and when did you begin using us? What was involved in your decision to become a Spidertracks customer?

I’d been looking for a Partenavia for some time when I found one all the way over in Australia. A New Zealand flying friend of mine had a look at it and noticed it came with a Spider — and his enthusiasm for the unit and the software sealed the deal. I purchased the plane and had it shipped back to the UK, where my Kiwi friend and I took it for a trip. He even helped me set up my Spidertracks account.

What Spidertracks features and functionalities are the most important for your organisation, and why?

My wife loves Spidertracks. She always asks me to let her know where I am, and I used to be a poor responder. There was always something else to do. Now I don’t have to worry about it!

What would you say are the biggest strengths of the Spidertracks system?

The immediacy of the tracking and instantly being able to see the aircraft’s location at any time.

Anything else you’d like us to know? We’d love to hear it!

I would highly recommend Spidertracks to anyone with a plane!
