A Message from Dave Blackwell (CEO) - April 2020
Kia ora koutou katoa.
A warm hello to all our friends, customers and industry associates around the world. I’m coming to you today, from my own COVID-19 safe-haven, which is just outside of Auckland, New Zealand.
I don’t want to be the next person to speak about unprecedented times, but I definitely want to acknowledge the significant challenges that many of you are facing right now. Almost overnight, your businesses have grounded to a halt, with no real clarity on what the way forward looks like as well.
This will be an extreme test of business resilience and personal resilience, and also on relationships across a much broader business ecosystem. The requirement for support and flexibility within the supply chains and business partnerships will be paramount, not just for getting through and surviving the current period, but also for a prompt and efficient recovery.
I want to mention that it’s not all doom and gloom out there - there’s some really positive stuff we hear about from around the world. Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve literally spoken to hundreds of you, both my team and me personally. There’s a real key theme that’s emerging, which is an optimistic outlook in the long term. We’re real about the pain that’s going on right now, but also, there’s a confident outlook that things will return to normal.
We all should be genuinely encouraged by this. We’re also seeing businesses taking the opportunity to do work on their business, ensuring they can emerge from this in a better position and stronger when things get going again.
From a Spidertracks perspective, we are online; our services are online - the customer support team and sales team, and the business continues to operate as usual. We really invite you to contact us throughout this period. Talk to our teams about what you’ve got going on; talk to us about what’s happening in your business, and how we can support you, not just for the short term, but also help you align for a better, stronger future as well.
In closing - no rain, no rainbows, right? The industry will come out of this, and it will prosper again. But in the meantime, He waka eke noa - We are all in this together.
Hope to hear from you soon. Take care.
